China's gaming market sees historic performance this year thanks to Black Myth: Wukong

According to official data shared by the China Video Game Association, the Chinese market this year saw a 7.53% increase in performance over last year, achieving 325.8 billion Chinese yuan, or about 44.8 billion dollars, in sales, which is the highest figure for this market since its numbers began to be officially monitored in 2003.

Players rose 0.94% to 674 million players. This record performance this year was attributed to the Chinese action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million copies in less than 4 days of its launch, breaking the 20 million mark in its first month, and contributing to a 9% increase in market performance during the quarter in which it was released.
